After many years of separation, the unhappy lovers find that every path they take brings them back together

A local rebellious teenager, Klotter falls in love with his classmate Jackie, but gang violence pushes him down a dark and destructive path. Malik Fricka, who plays 17-year-old Clotter in this film, was the world champion in breakdancing when he was 10 years old. One of the characters wears a Rolex Daytona Ceramic from the 1990s, but the timepieces were only released in 2016.

I was so excited to see this film, directed by Gilles Lelouch, with Adele Exarchopoulos and Francois Siville, who I really admire. There are all the ingredients to make a French Bockbuster, but they missed it. The first part is too long to describe the wall of their young life and love.
After a while we wonder if we got into the wrong projection room
Plus, we begin to feel disappointed that neither Adele nor Francois were seen after an hour. If this first long part was planned, the film should have been in 2 releases. Because I really think that, although it was too long, it was good.
I found the screenplay adaptation rather weak
The second part of their adult life does not deserve trust in many aspects and is not exciting enough. Plus, I didn’t feel any connection to this love reunion story. As for the ending, it was too easy.
It’s a shame because I feel like we missed an opportunity to make a great movie
Well done to Mallory Vanek as Jackie and Malik Frick as young Klotter, who gave excellent performances.
